Starting in 2007, the English department is introducing children’s literature into the curriculum for P3-6.
The following Newberry Award-winners are introduced:
P3 - The Little People
P4 - The Whipping Boy
P5 - The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
P6 - Charlotte’s Web
Through the introduction of quality children’s literature, we hope to motivate the pupils to read for pleasure. Pupils will also acquire vocabulary and learn comprehension strategies and values through their exposure to these books.
