Oral Skills Programme
As many of our pupils do not come from English speaking homes, the English Department implements the Speak English Policy where pupils are strongly encouraged and reminded to use English as a means of communication at all times except during Mother Tongue periods.
To develop pupils in spoken English, P1 pupils are rostered to do “Show & Tell” in their classes on a termly basis.
P2-6 pupils are rostered to give one-minute presentations in class on a given topic or a topic of their interest. Each pupil will have the opportunity to present three times per semester.
We hope to see our pupils gradually becoming confident speakers as a result of these oral presentations.
