Speak Well and Be Understood
In line with the government's emphasis on speaking Standard English, the English Department organized some activities for the "Speak Good English" Week from 6th to 8th April 2004.
The objective was primarily to stimulate our students’ interest in the English Language through fun-filled activities.
The activities launched during the three days consisted of tongue twisters, word games and poems for students to recite. The game stations were run solely by the student leaders, some of whom were as young as eight years old!

The highlight of the event was the promotion of English Language activities at the “mobile” stations during recess. The students took part in the activities even while having their food. Rewards and prizes were given to the students who did well.
The activities organised were thoroughly enjoyed by the students as many of them came back to the stations several times to participate in these activities. Zhangde students expressed their wish for more of such activities in the future.
